Share : Learn : Change

The North Sound Youth and Family Coalition (YFC) gathers every month to share our thoughts, listen, and learn from others. Here, different perspectives work together to build relationships and create change in behavioral health/mental health services.

Out of an abundance of caution and for the safety and well-being of our community, North Sound Behavioral Health Administrative Services Organization’s executive leadership has decided that all meetings usually held on-site will, instead, be held virtually.

Please click here for current meeting information. Please do not come in person. Instead, please use your computer or mobile device to log in or call into the meetings.

Part of the Children’s Behavioral
Health Governance Structure

North Sound YFC is the regional Family, Youth, System Partner Round Table (FYSPRT) for the North Sound area (Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom, Island, and San Juan counties). FYSPRTs inform and provide oversight for high-level policy-making, program planning, and decision-making in the child and youth behavioral/mental health system in Washington state.

We could use your help!

Would you like to participate in co-designing better transition practices? We are seeking Young People between the ages of 18-25 with lived experience of homelessness and inpatient behavioral health treatment, families of people with those experiences, and providers that serve them.

There are three ways to participate:
  • Online in a small group
  • An individual interview online or by phone
  • Or by taking a survey

We will be exploring the current state of treatment transitions, what is missing, and identify new ways of moving forward to stable housing. We will compile this information into value-based purchasing, policy, education, and technical assistance recommendations for the Health Care Authority to implement. This is an excellent opportunity to get your voice heard and develop new ways of transitioning young people from inpatient to outpatient care. Young people 18-25 who participate will receive one-time compensation with a virtual gift card of either $25 for participating in an interview or group, or $10 for filling out a survey. Please forward this information throughout your networks.

Please reach out to Sazi Wald directly at, or call (360) 790-4560 if you have questions or are interested in participating.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Have a Voice. Be Heard.

“The North Sound Youth and Family Coalition helps me to stay in the loop with what's happening in the behavioral health system at the county, state and federal level. This impacts all of us on an individual level and I appreciate the opportunity to have my voice among the conversations happening in Washington state.”

- Nina Weaver

“As a community member of Skagit County, I am moved by the ideas and conversations that are generated within the Coalition. It is wonderful to see the commitment to improving the well-being of families and youth from so many people in our region.”
